A Sufi Evening including Dances of Universal Peace
1st Thursdays at 7:30pm at the Hidden Springs Wellness Center

A Sufi Evening includes Sufi teachings and practices, and the Dances of Universal Peace. A simple breath practice and a prayer or two from the lineage of Hazrat Inayat Khan provide a window into the offerings of Ashland Sufi Heart Circle. The Dances of Universal Peace (sometimes called Sufi Dancing) are simple group dances. They are a form of body prayer; sometimes joyful and expressive, other times meditative and inward. Sacred phrases form the hubs around which these dances whirl. Dedicated to peace within and without, these are easily learned and heart opening practices. Zikr
The class mixes Zikr and singing, spiritual practices from Hazrat Inayat Khan and Murshid Sam Lewis, and the ongoing teachings of Hazrat Inayat Khan. The breadth and depth of Hazrat Inayat Khan’s teaching’s are truly remarkable. He unlocks and uncovers a way into understanding and wisdom involving many topics; incuding breath, moral culture, sacred symbology, insight, metaphysics, religions and beliefs, and more. Hazrat Inayat Khan’s non-dogmatic, open hearted approach not only accepts and tolerates, but loves and appreciates all.
